Business areas
Our largest business park is the well-known Lautrupgård, a 20 hectare (50 acre) area of land with the highest concentration of technology-intensive companies in the country. This attractive area is dominated by the administrative domiciles of Danish and international companies within IT and financing. It is a green, open area where the lakes and natural vegetation have been kept intact.
The area has been an attractive location for major administrative offices since the 1970s when IT and telecommunications companies such as Siemens, Xerox, Oracle and other business service, consultancy and insurance companies established their offices here. Since then Pfizer, GN Store Nord, and Ementor have also sited their domiciles in Lautruppark.
Lautrupgård is also the home of the Copenhagen Engineering Academy and there is extensive cooperation between local companies and this highly respected engineering academy.
Ballerup Business Park is a relatively new area of 55 hectares (135 acres) on the west side of Ballerup town centre. It is beautifully located between the village of Pederstrup and the preserved area of Råmose. Leading life science companies NeuroSearch and Ambu International and construction companies Jakon and Luxo are located here.
In the western part of Ballerup Business Park, where Struers A/S, the world-leading manufacturer of equipment and consumables for materialographic surface preparation of solid materials is located, the municipality still has building sites of 20 hectares (50 acres) available.
Måløv Business Park is the latest business park, located beside Kildedal train station. With an area of 200 hectares (490 acres), it will be one of the most prominent business development sites in the Greater Copenhagen Region over the next decade. The area spans Ballerup municipality and the neighbouring municipality of Egedal.
This scenic area is already home to several high-profile companies including the world's largest insulin manufacturer, Novo Nordisk, and hearing aid manufacturer Oticon. Kildedal train station is centrally located in the area and will develop into the natural heart of the business park. In the near future a motorway will connect the area with the town of Frederikssund and a major road link to the traffic hub of Høje Taastrup is also in the pipeline.
The municipality and private individuals and businesses are currently selling sites ranging in size from 5,000 to 140,000 square metres.
