The Danes are working more than ever before
31-07-2008
Business conditions:
The Danish people are working more than ever before. During the last decade the Danes’ working time has increased by 5 per cent.
The result is that each Danish citizen holding a job is now working more than seven hours per average working day.
And this is quite the opposite of the tendency in most other OECD countries in which increasing spare time is highly prioritized, writes Politiken.
If you allow for the fact that a great part of the Danish labour force consists of women who are typically working less than men, Denmark is now number ten in the ranking of countries with a high working willingness and this is above the OECD-average.
