British Burberry to target its efforts in Copenhagen
01-08-2008
Companies:
The fashionable Burberry brand has opened a new flagship shop in Copenhagen in a prime location in the heart of the Nordic region's fashion centre, writes Børsen Business Daily.
Burberry is not unknown on the Copenhagen fashion scene, as the British brand used to have a shop for four years in the Illum department store in central Copenhagen. However, the shop is now closed.
But now Burberry has opened the doors to an independent shop right on the pulsating pedestrian street that forms the very heart of Copenhagen. The independent shop has been opened as part of the company's strategy to position Burberry as an important player on the Danish fashion market.
Burberry's classic trench coat, in particular, which has been a bestseller for more than 150 years, keeps the cash register ringing, as do sales of accessories as such as handbags and scarves.
